Simon & Schuster UK’s Finance team is looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Payable Assistant to join and support the Finance team.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will act as the first point of call for all accounts payable administration. You will be responsible for processing all purchase invoices, monitoring supplier accounts, including PO approvals ensuring timely settlement of liabilities as they fall due. Support the preparation of weekly payment runs. You will help with the maintenance of historical accounts payable records.
The role includes reconciling supplier statements, resolving invoice discrepancies, maintaining up‑to‑date supplier records, supporting month‑end activities and assisting the wider Finance team with general administrative and ad‑hoc tasks.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, a keen eye for detail, ability to work to deadlines, and impeccable organisational skills. The individual will be a proactive and self‑motivated team player who is confident, professional and conscientious. Good grounding of administration is essential and able to work in an office environment. Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable, with experience of Microsoft 365 applications and good IT skills.
