Job summary

Colas Rail UK is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Accounts Payable team in Swindon. You will ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time, liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and support month-end activities.

Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Desirable: Intermediate Excel skills and team player.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure invoices are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Follow-up with authorisers to ensure processing timelines are observed and payments deadlines are achieved.
  • Raise certificates within prescribed company deadlines.
  • Assist in processing 4-weekly invoice payment runs.
  • Attend to supplier queries and direct queries to relevant authorisers where necessary.
  • Assist with monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensure payment log file is kept up to date (EXCEL).
  • Ensure proactive management of any purchase orders requiring uplift.
  • Provide administrative support where required.
  • Any other tasks / responsibilities assigned by the Manager.

Purpose of the Role

Assist the Purchase Ledger Accounts payable teams to process applications, invoices and payments to ensure subcontractors and suppliers are paid accurately and on time

Person Specification
Essential
  • Excellent attention to detail

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure invoices are processed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Follow-up with authorisers to ensure processing timelines are observed and payments deadlines are achieved.
