We’re working with a leading independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors that’s expanding its Accounts & Business Advisory team across Scotland. They’re seeking an Assistant Manager who’s ready to step up and take ownership of a varied client portfolio — providing insightful advice, financial reporting, and commercial support to dynamic owner-managed and mid‑market businesses.

The Opportunity:

You’ll work directly with ambitious business owners and finance leaders, helping them make confident financial decisions and improve performance. From preparing management accounts and year‑end financial statements to delivering business insights and supporting growth plans, you’ll play a key role in clients’ success.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Managing your own portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements and management accounts.
  • Providing proactive business advice on cashflow, profitability, and growth.
  • Reviewing work of junior team members and supporting their development.
  • Liaising directly with clients, building strong, trusted relationships.
  • Assisting Partners with projects, forecasting, and advisory assignments.
About You:
  • Professionally qualified (CA / ACCA or equivalent).
  • Experience in accounts preparation and business advisory within practice.
  • Commercially minded with strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Confident managing client portfolios and mentoring junior staff.
  • Interested in adding value beyond compliance and developing advisory expertise.
