Overview

ACCOUNTS/AUDIT SEMI SENIOR

Braintree, Essex

Role to accurately prepare accountancy and audit work unsupervised, providing effective support for both Partner and Manager, and fostering the development of trainees and less senior staff within the team.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake the training requirements of the Practice to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Integrate successfully with the team and provide effective support to team members.
  • Handle complex accounting issues on assignments, ensuring appropriate accounting policies and disclosures.
  • Review accounts files and identify issues or inconsistencies for review by Manager or Partner.
  • Prepare written and verbal communications to obtain necessary information from clients and address queries.
  • Prepare or review management accounts, providing analysis and recommendations.
  • Understand and advocate for good management accounting records, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Train clients on maintaining good accounting records and implementing new accounting software.
  • Conduct detailed audit work, review junior team members\' work, and provide feedback to the Audit Manager.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations, liaising with the tax department and ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Understand tax treatment of salary and dividend payments for limited companies.
  • Manage and review assistant team members\' work, identifying training needs and providing feedback.
  • Adhere to and follow the Practice\'s workflow procedures and ensure understanding by junior team members.
  • Take on additional tasks and follow required instructions and procedures for accounts and audit operations.
  • Be commercially aware and cost-effective in tasks, meeting external deadlines.
  • Understand the services provided by the Practice to recognise opportunities for external promotion.
  • Assist with Practice promotion through sharing articles on social media.
  • Deliver training sessions on key accounting or audit areas as requested by the Partners.
  • Adhere to the Firm\'s Health & Safety Policy at all times.
