Job summary

Chilworth Partnership / Venture Recruitment Partners are partnering with a growing construction business to recruit an Accounts Assistant to support day-to-day finance activities.

The role involves purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations and month-end support, with study support available for AAT progress. You will work with a friendly finance team in modern offices and contribute to continual process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger roles.
• Ideally studying towards AAT qualification.
• Good understanding of purchase and sales ledgers and general finance processes.
• Experience processing high volumes of financial transactions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Proficient Excel skills.
• Experience with Sage 200 or similar accounting system advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.
• Raising sales invoices and supporting credit control activities.
• Assist with supplier payments and weekly payment runs.
• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Process and reconcile company credit card transactions.
• Support month-end activities and reporting preparation.
• Maintain accurate financial records in the finance system.
• Assist with supplier and customer account queries.
• Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks.
• Contribute to improving processes and financial controls.
