Job summary

Pertemps Crawley Perms is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their Cranleigh-based team, supporting across the finance functions from purchase ledger to VAT returns. A driving license and own car are required, with a varied role and ownership over key financial processes.

Responsibilities include invoice processing, credit control, VAT returns, and monthly management accounts, with a starting salary of £30,000 per year plus DOE, and benefits such as 21 days holiday plus bank

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance administration, accounts or bookkeeping role.
• Practical experience using Sage 50 is essential.
• Good understanding & use of MS Packages.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and match them against delivery notes.
• Investigate discrepancies with suppliers and arrange refunds or credit notes.
• Manage credit control, including issuing statements, chasing payments and maintaining accurate records.
• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts, company credit cards and expenses.
• Prepare and manage regular payment runs.
• Complete quarterly VAT returns, including postponed VAT accounting where applicable.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for directors and shareholders.
• Provide general support, handling enquiries and ordering of smaller-scale consumables.
