Job summary

An established North East accountancy practice in South Tyneside is seeking a Junior Accountant or Accounts Assistant to join on a full-time, permanent basis. The role offers training and opportunities to develop your accounting skills within a supportive client-focused environment.

You will handle day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, reconciliations and payroll support while liaising with clients and colleagues. Progression and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role.
• Ideally experience in an accountancy practice.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of clients.
• Process purchase and sales invoices, payments, receipts and other financial transactions.
• Complete bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with the preparation of accounts and financial reports.
• Support with the preparation of VAT returns and other basic tax work.
• Assist with payroll processing and related administration.
