Confidential in Holmfirth is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a friendly and supportive finance team. The role will initially focus on day-to-day transactional duties with a clear progression plan to month-end processes, management accounts preparation and wider financial reporting.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller, gain exposure across reconciliations, journals, accruals and cash flow, and develop towards a more rounded finance role through hands-on training and ongoing

Qualifikationen

• Prev. experience in an accounts or finance role.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Keen to take on additional responsibilities and progress towards a more rounded finance role.
• AAT studies or willingness to undertake further finance training is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Processing purchase invoices and matching to purchase orders where applicable.
• Managing the purchase ledger, ensuring invoices are recorded and processed.
• Processing sales invoices and supporting the maintenance of the sales ledger.
• Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations and resolving invoice queries.
• Monitoring outstanding payments and assisting with supplier payment runs.
• Posting bank transactions and assisting with bank reconciliations.
• Processing expenses and employee claims.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the accounting system is kept up to date.
• Responding to internal and external finance queries.
• Providing general administrative support to the finance team.
