Office Angels in Manchester is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team in a fast-paced, growing tech company. Office-based role in Manchester City Centre with a salary of £26,000–£30,000 per year, dependent on experience.

The role offers study support and clear path to progression within a supportive finance function, with responsibilities spanning processing invoices, credit control, and month-end tasks.

Qualifications

• Ideally a finance degree or related discipline.
• Previous experience in finance, accounts, or bookkeeping is strongly preferred.
• Interest in pursuing an AAT qualification or currently studying towards it.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Xero is beneficial but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and staff expenses promptly and accurately.
• Raise sales invoices and assist with credit control, including following up on outstanding payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and company credit cards.
• Assist with month-end tasks such as accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
• Maintain accurate financial records within the accounting software.
• Support the preparation of VAT returns and other compliance filings.
• Respond to internal and external finance inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with general administrative duties within the finance function.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller on ad hoc reporting and projects.
