Job summary

SI Recruitment Limited is recruiting for an Accountant or Accounts Assistant in Seaton Delaval, offering a friendly, close-knit team and a modern cloud-based practice. You will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, build client relationships, and develop financial dashboards as you support a varied portfolio of clients.

The role focuses on year-end accounts, VAT, and tax support with exposure to Xero and in-depth client interaction.

Qualifications

• Previous Accountancy Practice experience.
• Experience preparing accounts and/or bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of Xero or other cloud accounting software.
• A good understanding of bookkeeping and VAT.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• AAT qualified or studying towards AAT, ACA or ACCA (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for a varied client portfolio.
• Completing bookkeeping using Xero.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Assisting with the preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
• Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries.
• Maintaining accurate financial records.
• Liaising with HMRC where required.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
