Responsibilities

• Handle checking and re-allocating nominal postings.
• Code Purchase Invoices accurately.
• Manage Credit Control duties effectively.
• Maintain Sales and Purchase Ledgers.
• Initiate Monthly Run and pay Inter Company Accounts.
• Check and allocate Manufacturer commission.
• Conduct stock counts regularly.
• Perform Daily Banking tasks.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our Lloyd Jaguar Land Rover site based in York.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts department. Working closely with the dealership’s Assistant Accountant and Retailer Accountant, you’ll be responsible for day‑to‑day transactional accounting tasks, supporting accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the success of the business.

Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37.5 hours

Role responsibilities

• Checking and re‑allocating nominal postings
• Coding of Purchase Invoices
• Credit Control
• Ledger Maintenance – ensuring Sales and Purchase Ledgers are tidy
• Initiating Monthly Run and paying Inter Company Accounts
• Checking and allocating Manufacturer commission
• Stock counts
• Daily Banking

Ideal Candidate

• Credit Control experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• IT Literate
• General office / administration experience
• Effective time management and attention to detail
• AAT qualification desirable but not essential
• Experience of working in the motor industry and knowledge of Kerridge desirable (full training provided)
