About Us

Wayland Farms is part of the hugely successful Cranswick PLC, with pig farms across Norfolk and Suffolk. We are seeking a detail‑oriented and flexible Accounts Assistant to join our small finance team, reporting to the Management Accountant. Working in a small team of three, this is a key role within the business to ensure all office administration and data recording is completed in a timely and effective manner.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (flexible to consider slightly reduced hours for the right candidate).

Job responsibilities
  • Input pig movements and sales data into excel spreadsheets to facilitate the completion of the weekly accounts.
  • Weekly feed invoice coding and posting, including the collation and filing of relevant backing documentation.
  • Coding and posting of other purchase invoices and preparation of weekly supplier payments.
  • Completion of other tasks for the wider office as required.
  • Assist with the completion of weekly and monthly reports as required by the Management Accountant.
  • Provide holiday cover for Management Accountant and Farms Administrator.
  • Liaise with farms and external businesses via telephone, as well as answer incoming office calls.

  • Experience within an office/administrative role is required; finance experience is beneficial.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible working approach – prepared to learn all areas of the department and be flexible in what is required each week to maintain the effective functioning of the office.
  • To be a motivated individual who will work seamlessly with office colleagues and the wider farm management team.
  • To use your initiative and deal with issues as and when they arrive.
  • Good Excel skills – knowledge of formulas is not required but the ability to comfortably navigate and enter data into large spreadsheets.
Pay and benefits
  • Salary – £26,000 – £28,000 FTE (dependent on experience).
