Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting seeks an experienced Accounts Assistant for a hands-on role in the Truro area. You will support a small finance team across purchase ledger, reconciliations and monthly reporting in a rural, interesting environment.

Ideally you have solid transactional finance experience, familiarity with purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations and Excel. Sage experience is desirable; you will be well organized and able to work independently or in a small team.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a similar transactional finance role.
• Good working knowledge of purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and general accounts administration.
• Experience with Sage or similar accounting package is desirable.
• Organised with attention to detail and able to work independently or in a small team.
• Good IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook; full UK driving licence and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices onto the purchase ledger, reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
• Recording income received and assisting with credit control and creditor payment runs.
• Performing bank and credit card reconciliations and monthly internal invoicing.
• Assisting with the monthly review of accounting transactions, accruals and journal entries.
• Supporting with quarterly VAT returns and the preparation of management accounts.
• Monthly reporting including maintenance of the fixed asset registers and other ad hoc finance tasks as required.

Accounts Assistant - Truro Area - circa £30k - Full time - Permanent

If you're an experienced accounts assistant looking for a varied and interesting role in a unique and inspiring working environment, this could be a fantastic opportunity. I'm working with a well-established rural organisation based near Truro with a diverse portfolio of interests, that is looking for a capable Accounts Assistant to join their small and friendly finance team and support the Management Accountant across a broad range of transactional and reporting duties.

This is a varied and hands on role covering a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Processing supplier invoices onto the purchase ledger, reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
• Recording income received and assisting with credit control and creditor payment runs.
• Performing bank and credit card reconciliations and monthly internal invoicing.
• Assisting with the monthly review of accounting transactions, accruals and journal entries.
