Job summary

A dynamic growing company in Southampton is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to work closely with the Financial Controller. You will ensure adherence to financial processes while providing essential data for management decisions. Candidates should have previous relevant experience, strong analytical and numerical skills, and advanced Excel capabilities. The role offers a salary of up to GBP 32,000 with 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, in a supportive team environment.

  • Raising invoices and processing payments.

  • Running month end reports for management accounts.
  • Assisting with monthly accruals.
  • Processing business expenses.
  • Reconciling bank account transactions.
  • Assisting with the annual financial audit.

Job description

Are you an experienced and confident Accounts Assistant with a background working across accounts payable and accounts receivable? If so, we have an exciting opportunity working closely with our Financial Controller to ensure all financial and operational processes are adhered to, providing the management team with necessary information to make informed decisions.

Salary: up to A GBP 32,000 (depending on experience)

Location: office based (SO16 0BT)

Hours of work: 35 hours (Mon : Fri)

Holiday: 25 days (plus bank holidays)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Raising invoices and processing payments.
  • Monitoring outstanding invoices and minimising debtor days.
  • Carrying out credit checks.
  • Preparing payment runs and reconciling statements.
  • Running month end reports to support the production of management accounts.
  • Assisting with monthly accruals.
  • Processing business expenses.
