Are you looking to build your finance career in a supportive and creative environment? Our client, a well-established interior design business, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their growing team full-time. This is a new role offering the chance to make a real impact on the finance function.

What you'll be doing:
  • Processing and managing supplier and customer invoices accurately, matching them to purchase orders and reconciling statements
  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions, including supplier payments and debt chasing
  • Posting transactions to the correct nominal ledger codes and assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity across accounting systems
  • Assisting with VAT checks and other basic taxation compliance
  • Preparing basic financial reports to support management decisions
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects, budgeting, and month-end processes
  • Collaborating with other departments and communicating effectively with suppliers and customers
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage and spreadsheet tools like Excel or Google Sheets (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, clients, and suppliers
  • A proactive and willing‑to‑learn attitude, especially in a growing team
