Qualifications

Senior Accounts Assistant

Location: Plymouth | Salary: £36,000 - £42,000 (FTE) | Hours: 25 per week (Monday to Wednesday + half-day Thursday ideally)

Our client is seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to join their finance team and play a key role in keeping the business’s financial operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records using Xero
  • Process supplier invoices, staff expenses, and weekly commission payments
  • Assist with payroll and staff salary processing
  • Reconcile accounts and support month-end reporting
  • Monitor budgets, analyse spend, and produce management information
  • Liaise with colleagues, clients, and external providers
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC regulations
About You
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounts role
  • Confident with Xero (essential) and Excel
  • Payroll experience is advantageous
  • AAT Level 3 or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organised, and proactive
  • Professional communicator, able to work independently and as part of a team
