Bela Recruitment is hiring an Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper – Donaghmore, Northern Ireland.

Permanent Job - £30,000 - £35,000+ top tier healthcare package.

The Company

This cracking local SME is a manufacturing company which is super secure and growing. I’ve worked with them for a few years, super nice people, great culture and attitude towards how they treat people. This business is very manageable, with about a £4m turnover and 30 staff, but growing. This position has opened, due to a long-standing employee due for retirement after 30 years’ loyal service! They are keen to attract someone who can drive greater process improvements across all finance functions, making use of software to help automate tasks and prepared to invest where needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the company accountant with a range of financial duties, but always with a keen eye on how to streamline processes and software integrations.
  • Support daily bookkeeping across - Supplier & Customer Invoice Processing, Account Balances and Reporting.
  • Bank reconciliations and lodgements (cheques).
  • Weekly Payroll for about 30 staff.
  • Support financial reporting.
  • Credit Control and improvements.
  • VAT preparation and reporting – UK & ROI.
  • Intrastat Reporting.
  • Assist with Year-End duties.
  • TSS returns, employee expense processing, grant reporting.
  • Other finance duties are required.
Requirements
  • You will ideally have 3+ years commercial Bookkeeping or Accounts Assistant experience.
  • Some form of Accounts qualification or strong industry experience, ideally from manufacturing.
  • Ability and desire to drive process improvements, someone who is willing and able to drive better use of software to streamline tasks for the team.
  • Strong experience with Sage50 and SageHR.
  • Strong Excel and MS applicants.
  • Excellent communication, people skills and a team player.
