Are you an experienced and motivated accounts assistant looking for a new opportunity in a growing company based in Leeds? Do you have a strong background in transactional finance and bookkeeping? If so, you might be interested in this exciting role.

Our client is a leading provider of innovative solutions in the service sector, with a client base across the UK. Our client is based in Leeds centre, within walking distance of the train station and other amenities. We are looking for an accounts assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team and help us with the day-to-day accounting tasks.

As an accounts assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices, ensuring accuracy

  • Reconciling bank accounts and supplier statements

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns

  • Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures, including accruals, prepayments, and journals

  • Supporting the finance manager with ad hoc tasks and projects

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent, or working towards it

  • Ideally in the region of two years of experience in a similar role

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software, such as Sage or Xero

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders

  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
