A family-owned car retailer in the Highlands is seeking an Accounts Assistant to help produce monthly management accounts and assist with statutory reporting. The ideal candidate is part qualified or has equivalent experience in accounting, possesses good Excel skills, and can work well under pressure. What's the job?

Joining the Hawco Group Accounts team as an experienced or part qualified Accountant, you will assist in the production of monthly management accounts and the year end financial statements.

You will also assist in statutory reporting and production of monthly management information submissions to our manufacturers. You will help the team in updating processes and controls and ensuring they are adhered to.

The most important thing is you will be a member of a knowledgeable, driven team that understands what you stand for.

Daily responsibilities include;
  • Working with nominal ledger, purchase and sales ledger.
  • Reconciliation work.
  • Vehicle sales ledger control
  • Assisting with cashflow preparation.
  • Other ad-hoc duties
  • Accounts payable and receivable cover.
  • Assisting with payroll administration.
  • Processing journals.
Key attributes and skills you need;
  • Minimum part qualified or equivalent experience within Accounting.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to produce monthly management accounts within tight deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of financial processes.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, but also as part of a team.
  • Flexible - non-standard working hours will be necessary at times.
  • Up to date knowledge of current accounting standards.
