We are a small chemical manufacturing company seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks. Three days per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent organisational skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Performing bank reconciliations and monitoring company bank accounts
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
  • Managing petty cash
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Supporting credit control by chasing outstanding payments
  • Responding to supplier and client queries via phone and email
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations
  • Ad-hoc administrative duties and support to the finance team as required
Requirements
Essential
  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software e.g Sage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
Desirable
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Drivers licence and own transport as trips to the bank and post office may be required from time to time
