Job summary

Search Consultancy LTD is seeking an Accounts Assistant for a manufacturing business in Cumbernauld. The role involves supporting the sales ledger and purchase ledger functions and assisting with month-end processes to develop accounting experience.

The position is permanent, full-time and office-based in Cumbernauld, offering around 36.5 hours weekly and a salary from 30,000 to 35,000 with ample support for professional development and ACCA/AAT progression.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
• Good understanding of accruals and prepayments.
• Experience across purchase ledger and sales ledger.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the sales ledger and purchase ledger functions.
• Process approximately 20 to 30 orders per day.
• Assist with month end accounting processes.
• Prepare and post accruals and prepayments.
• Support balance sheet and account reconciliations.
• Process invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
• Work closely with the Financial Accountant and wider Finance team.
• Support the preparation of financial information and reporting.
• Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a well established manufacturing business in Cumbernauld. This is a great role for someone who already has a good grounding in transactional finance and is looking to develop their accounting experience further. You will work closely with qualified accountants and gain exposure to month end processes, including accruals and prepayments. The business is open to candidates who are HNC qualified, AAT qualified or currently studying towards an accounting qualification. There is also support available for continued professional development, including AAT and ACCA.

The Role

• Supporting the sales ledger and purchase ledger functions

• Working closely with the Financial Accountant, Manufacturing Accountant and wider Finance team
• Supporting the preparation of financial information and reporting
• Ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Using Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Providing additional support across the Finance function when required

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Good understanding of accruals and prepayments
• Experience across purchase ledger and sales ledger
• Strong attention to detail
• Good work ethic and willingness to take ownership of workload
• Someone keen to learn, develop and progress within finance
• HNC, AAT or similar accounting qualification would be beneficial
• Comfortable working within a busy finance environment
• Previous experience with Dynamics 365 would be advantageous

Working Hours

• Full time and office based in Cumbernauld
• Approximately 36.5 hours per week
• Flexible working hours, with options around 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm
• 40 minute lunch break
