Location: Luxury Hotel, Cambridge

Reports to: Financial Controller and General Manager

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive

Key relationships: All Heads of Department across Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Front Desk, Maintenance and Support Office.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at a prestigious luxury hotel in Cambridge. This role blends operational finance duties with administrative coordination, offering a unique opportunity to contribute across multiple departments and support the smooth running of the hotel's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Invoice and Purchase Ledger Support: Process daily invoices, manage outstanding purchase orders, issue receiving reports and assist departments with invoice queries and training.
  • Revenue and Audit Tasks: Reconcile daily revenue and payments, review discounts and allowances, manage car park and EV charge postings and support POS/PMS reconciliations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Producing daily reports focused on hotel revenue generation and profitability using big data to create insights for Hotel. Acting as the first point of call for ensuring accurate accounting and reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Cash and Banking Duties: Handle cash counting and reconciliation, manage petty cash and float checks, prepare change orders and support month-end balance sheets.
  • Payroll and Labour Monitoring: Track hours worked, monitor clock-in issues, analyse payroll costs and provide insights into labour efficiency and F&B performance.
  • General Support: Maintain high standards of service and presentation, follow hotel policies and procedures and participate in training and departmental communications.
Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with Sage, OnQ and Birch Street systems is desired.
