Our client, a leading and fast-growing accountancy firm in Sussex, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their professional and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong bookkeeping experience and excellent organisational skills to play a key role in providing high-quality accounting support to a broad portfolio of clients.

What's on Offer?
  • Job type: Full time, permanent
  • Location: Bexhill
  • Salary: £27,000+ depending on experience
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of client bookkeeping and VAT return requirements.
  • Schedule and control deadlines and regular work.
  • Undertake client bookkeeping and complete VAT returns.
  • Prepare management accounts as required.
  • Prepare and file CIS returns.
  • Assist managers with accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies (with progression over time).
  • Keep managers and directors informed of work progress and assignments.
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements
  • Experience: Previous bookkeeping experience is essential.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
  • Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Online, and Xero.
  • Practice Knowledge: Understanding of general accountancy practice operations and client management.
  • Problem Solving: Strong ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
