Job summary

A finance recruitment agency is seeking an Accounts Assistant in Holywell. This full-time, office-based role involves managing ledgers, performing reconciliations, and supporting payroll. Ideal candidates will have AAT Level 3 or 4, with consideration for AAT Level 2 if they possess relevant experience. Knowledge of CIS and reverse charge VAT is advantageous. Looking for your next step in finance? We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to work closely with the Finance Manager. It s a hands‑on role with loads of variety and plenty of room to learn.

Hours:

Mon – Thurs: 8.30am – 5pm

Fri: 8.30am – 3pm

What you ll be doing:
  • Purchase ledger & sales ledger
  • Bank and account reconciliations
  • Supporting with month-end tasks
  • Weekly payroll
  • Using Sage Accounts, Sage Payroll and Eque2
  • A bit of HR admin thrown in (new starter forms, checks, etc.)
What they re after:
  • AAT Level 3 or 4 ideally
  • AAT Level 2 will be considered if you bring something extra (construction experience or similar)
  • Knowledge of CIS, reverse charge VAT or retentions is a big plus
  • Construction background is preferred but not essential
  • Someone happy working full-time in the office
Team:
  • You ll be working in a small, friendly finance function
