Job summary

Equals One is seeking an Accounts Analyst to join their finance team in Liverpool. This office-based, full-time role offers £30k to £35k DOE and involves hands-on accounting, reporting and financial analysis to support business decisions.

You will own ledgers, invoicing, payments and reconciliations, support month-end processes, and analyse data for trends and variances. AAT Level 4 or nearing completion, strong Excel, and familiarity with SQL/Power BI are desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
• Experience analysing financial data to identify trends and variances.
• AAT qualification or near Level 4 progression.
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI or similar tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of key accounting processes including ledgers, invoicing, payments, reconciliations and debt management.
• Supporting month-end processes, management information and regular financial reporting.
• Analysing financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, discrepancies and areas requiring further investigation.
• Working with large datasets to provide meaningful analysis and insight to support business decisions.
• Supporting VAT returns, financial analysis and wider finance projects.
• Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider business to investigate issues and provide accurate financial information.
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting.

Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys getting into the detail but also likes to understand what sits behind the numbers?

My client is a growing, fast-paced business looking for an Accounts Analyst to join their finance team in Liverpool. This is a varied, hands-on role combining core accounting responsibilities with financial analysis, reporting and the opportunity to provide meaningful insight to support business decisions.

What you'll be doing

• Taking ownership of key accounting processes including ledgers, invoicing, payments, reconciliations and debt management.
• Supporting month-end processes, management information and regular financial reporting.

About you

If you enjoy getting into the detail, making sense of data and understanding the story behind the numbers, this could be a great next step.
