Job summary

U.S. Air Forces, Europe (USAFE) is hiring an Accounting Technician to join the NAF Accounting Office at RAF Alconbury in the United Kingdom. This position supports financial records, cash management, and computerized accounting systems.

The role involves maintaining ledgers, processing deposits, balancing cash, and generating accounting reports. It is a permanent, part-time role with 20 guaranteed hours per week and potential to work up to 40 hours based on needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with double-entry accounting.
• Experience using automated general ledger systems.
• Ability to analyze accounting transactions and account balances.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with cash and financial documents.
• Ability to complete a background investigation successfully.
• Must meet U.S. Government eligibility requirements.
• Must provide all required supporting documents before the closing date.
• Resume must clearly demonstrate relevant accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain journals and ledgers using double-entry accounting.
• Process and verify daily deposits.
• Count, balance, and consolidate cash receipts.
• Prepare financial reports and accounting worksheets.
• Maintain the central change fund.
• Support payroll-related accounting records.
• Transport deposits to authorized military banking facilities.
• Follow government financial regulations and policies.
• Assist with accurate financial record keeping.
