Job summary

This apprenticeship position is for an Assistant Accountant (Level 3) with a fast-growing regional firm in the East Midlands. It offers hands-on learning across bookkeeping, VAT and year-end tasks, with a Buddy for support and a personal development plan from Day One.

You will gain experience using Sage, QuickBooks and Xero, while working on real client data and undergoing structured training. The role is full-time, based in Peterborough, with start date in January 2027 and a duration of 1 year

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs grades 4-9 with 6+ in English Language and Maths.
• Willing to learn through a buddy system and on-the-job training.
• Interest in developing accounting software skills (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).

Responsibilities

• Learn bookkeeping basics via online course covering debits/credits and VAT.
• Receive on-the-job training and a personal development plan from Day One.
• Learn to use Sage, QuickBooks and Xero across client work.
• Provide software support and process client financial information.
