A leading consulting firm in Birmingham is seeking an Associate Director for their Accounting and Financial Reporting team. In this senior role, you'll lead client engagements, manage a diverse portfolio, and contribute to business development. The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with strong experience in accounting practices. Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to provide client‑centric solutions for RSM's current and future clients within the middle market. Our Consulting team has a major role to play in driving forward the growth of the firm with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.

This exciting role is to join the Accounting and Financial Reporting (AFR) team based in our Birmingham office. The AFR team is part of a wider Accounting and Business Advisory line of service within Consulting.
The role is Associate Director. The client base is a mixture of entities including large corporates, private equity owned businesses, groups and privately owned businesses. AFR projects often include:
An Associate Director acts as an Accounting and Financial Reporting lead across portfolio of clients with responsibility for client service and quality of work. The Associate Director is expected to act as the key client contact and delegate work into the team. The portfolio will be tailored around the individual's skill‑set and interests. The role is a senior position within the leadership team, contributing to the smooth running of the department. A fundamental element of the role is the active coaching and development of the more junior members of the team.
A strong understanding of UK GAAP (FRS102 Section 1a, FRS 102), IFRS and accounting principles is desirable.
A significant part of the role is contributing towards business development. An Associate Director will be given the time, coaching and support to grow the firm through identifying opportunities, introducing new clients and participating in broader multi‑service line pitches.
