Accountant – German Speaking

Location: Remote working

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, Plus 20% Bonus and Study Support if Required

About the Job:

This is a broad accounting role with responsibility across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as well as bank reconciliations and month-end support. You’ll be the go-to person for resolving financial queries, maintaining accuracy across ledgers, and liaising with German-speaking clients and vendors.

Duties will include:
  • Managing the full cycle of Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor reconciliations

  • Handling Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, cash allocation, and following up on overdue balances

  • Acting as a key contact for both vendors and customers, including those based in German-speaking regions

  • Performing daily multi-currency bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies

  • Supporting the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting

  • Maintaining organised documentation for audit and compliance purposes

  • Contributing to the improvement of financial processes and internal controls

About the Successful Applicant:

You will be a fluent German speaker with experience in both AP and AR functions, ideally within a fast-paced, international environment. A strong grasp of accounting principles, excellent Excel skills, and proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite are essential. You will hold (or be working towards) a recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
