A local government authority in England is seeking an Accountant to join their Finance Service. The successful candidate will support the management of the Capital Programme and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Ideal candidates will possess strong financial analysis skills and preferably experience in a local government environment. The role is full-time with a salary range of £38,220 - £40,777.

An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join the Finance Service at Wirral Council. We are looking for an Accountant to join and support the Corporate Finance Team. As a member of the Accountancy team your primary purpose will be to support the Senior Finance Business Partners Capital to effectively manage the Councils Capital Programme. You will play a key role in ensuring the Councils Capital Programme is managed, evaluated and monitored effectively. Working with the Senior Finance Business Partner you will also help to ensure that the Council complies with all necessary Capital reporting requirements.
You will be an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual who is able to demonstrate a working knowledge of this area whilst also possessing excellent communication skills. This is a challenging position and will require strong financial analysis skills and input into reporting for various stakeholders. Candidates will preferably have experience in a local government finance environment.
