Job summary

A growing private business in Aberlour is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team. This full-time role involves financial reporting, journal posting, and management accounting among other duties. Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be exclusively working with a privately owned, growing business to recruit an experienced Accountant into this staff position based in Aberlour.

The Opportunity

This staff role sits within a small, dynamic team, and will be based at their Aberlour HQ. Working closely with the management and other departments, you will support the accounting team and additional business units. A detailed job description can be shared, but in summary, your role will include:

  • Financial reporting and compliance
  • Journal posting
  • Management accounting
  • Preparation of the annual budget
  • Fixed Asset Register maintenance; recording additions, disposals, depreciation calculation, and posting of journals
  • Support with the year end audit
  • Produce the reporting pack to disclose VOWD and costs per customer
  • Complete weekly operations costings for key cost centres
  • Insurance Administration and Support
  • Utilities Management
  • Environmental reporting
  • Prepare internal reports for Directors as required
Background and Experience

You will be a Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA) or qualified by experience with strong technical skills and proven track record of accounts preparation. Our client will consider applications from either a practice trained Accountant looking for industry experience, an Assistant Accountant looking to progress or an experienced Accountant / Finance Manager performing a similar role. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, achieving deadlines and interacting with key stakeholders. Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software programs is essential.
