Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounts department, overseeing day-to-day financial operations.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
  • Prepare and submit monthly manufacturer management information.
  • Reconcile balance sheets, control accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

Skills

AAT qualified
Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or QBE experience
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (Sage 50/200, Xero, QuickBooks)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
Experience with payroll, VAT returns, bank reconciliations
Attention to detail and accuracy
Organisational and time management skills

Overview

Thrive Group are delighted to be working with our client in Trowbridge who are actively looking to recruit an Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.

What you will be doing

As the Accountant, you'll play a key role in managing the finance function and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial information. You will:

  • Manage the accounts department, overseeing day-to-day financial operations.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts in accordance with company procedures and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit monthly manufacturer management information within agreed timescales.
  • Reconcile balance sheets, control accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
What you will need to succeed
  • AAT qualified or Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or QBE experience).
  • Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance management role.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting and ERP systems such as Sage 50/200, Xero, or QuickBooks.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis).
  • Experience with payroll, VAT returns, and bank reconciliations.
