Courtlands is a prestigious, privately owned residential estate in Richmond, Surrey. Set across 11 acres of landscaped grounds, it includes 11 buildings of apartments, as well as a portfolio of rental properties. The estate is managed by a dedicated on-site team and overseen by a Board of Directors appointed by leaseholders.

We are now seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the estate’s financial operations and provide high-quality management reporting. This is a part-time, on-site role (3–4 days per week) within a small, friendly and professional office environment.

About the role:

Reporting to the Company Secretary, the Accountant will play a key role in maintaining robust financial records and effective financial controls across the estate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day accounting operations using SAGE 50 Cloud Accounts to trial balance.
  • Preparing quarterly management accounts and assisting with management commentary.
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process and monitoring expenditure.
  • Liaising with auditors and preparing working papers for annual accounts and service charge statements.
  • Coordinating twice-yearly service charge billing and debtor management.
  • Working with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely salary payments.
  • Supporting the Company Secretary and Finance Committee with ad-hoc financial analysis, reports, and projects.

You will attend Finance Committee meetings (approximately four times per year) and play an integral role in ensuring the estate’s finances are well-managed, transparent and compliant.

About you:

We are looking for a part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with experience in management accounting and bookkeeping. You will combine strong technical accounting skills with a methodical approach and a keen eye for detail.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience working in smaller businesses.
  • Accounting software experience with Sage and operating knowledge of other accounting systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team.
  • Key personal values of integrity and reliability.

You’ll thrive in a professional, well-organised environment where accuracy and accountability are valued, and where you can take ownership of your work within a supportive and collaborative team.

What we can offer:
  • Competitive salary (£55,000 to £60,000 pro rata).
  • 26 days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays
  • On-site parking and pleasant working surroundings.
  • Supportive and friendly colleagues in a small, hard-working team.
