Job summary

A leading luxury retail brand is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage Accounts Payable and Receivable alongside month-end responsibilities. With a fully office-based role in Central London, the Accountant will collaborate closely with the Financial Controller, implement process improvements, and maintain accurate financial records. Applicants need approximately 5 years of experience and a strong knowledge of Quickbooks or SAGE.

Qualifications

About Our Client

The well-established and global brand have been around for a number of years and continue to grow. Even with a global presence, they have a small and collaborative team that are looking to grow. The successful Accountant will report directly into the Financial Controller and will oversee the AP and AR ledgers, as well as having a number of month-end responsibilities. the successful candidate must have a working knowledge of Quickbooks or SAGE, whilst also having approximately 5 years+ of experience in a very similar role (retail experience heavily desirable).

Job Description

The successful Accountant will:

• End to end management of the Accounts Payable & Receivable ledgers.
• Complete the monthly cycle of the Accounts Payable /receivable including the month end process.
• Balance sheet and Bank reconciliations.
• Cashflow reporting.
• Take the initiative in implementing new processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the Finance Department .
• Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate effectively with other departments.
• Process invoices whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy & resolving any queries or discrepancies that may arise.
• Process all employee expense claims & credit card statements.
• Payroll liaison and administration.
• Reconciling supplier statements & resolving old historical discrepancies.
• Manage one entity & prepare the payment runs for authorisation.
• Respond to & completing any Accounts queries.
• Audit liaison for payables and receivables queries.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accountant should have:

• Approximately 5 years of experience in a similar role (sole management of AP and AR ledgers)
• MUST have a strong working knowledge of the system Quickbooks or SAGE
• MUST have strong Excel skills
• Happy to work fully from an office (5 days per week in Green Park)
• Prior experience improving processes and systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
