We are recruiting for the position of Accountant within Devon County Council's Finance Service, providing professional financial support to both Devon County Council and the Devon and Torbay Combined County Authority (DTCCA). This is an exciting opportunity to work across two organisations with distinct but complementary priorities, while benefitting from the support, development opportunities and employment benefits offered by Devon County Council.

Working as part of a dedicated finance team, you will provide high-quality financial management support to tboth organisations, helping to ensure effective stewardship of public funds and supporting the delivery of the Auhtority's ambitious plans. You will work closely with senior leaders, budget holders and key stakeholders, delivering insightful financial advice, robust budget monitoring, forecasting and performance reporting. You will also play a key role in the annual budget-setting process and year-end closure of accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial information which supports strategic decision-making.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the development of a relatively new organisation while applying your professional finance skills to a broad and varied portfolio of work. We are looking for a proactive and motivated finance professional with experience in budget management, financial reporting and accounting processes. You will have strong analytial and communication skills, be confident explaining financial information to non-finance colleagues, and be committed to delivering high quality customer focused support.
