Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Accountant in Bolton with strong experience in accountancy practice and AAT Level 3 (or current study). You will manage a portfolio of clients across accounts, VAT and payroll while embracing cloud-based accounting software and a technology-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• AAT Level 3 qualified or currently studying toward it.
• Experience with accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and/or payroll.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients and support day-to-day accounting.
• Assist with accounts preparation for sole traders and small limited companies.
• Prepare and assist with VAT returns and submissions.
• Support payroll processing and administration.
• Act as a main point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing ongoing support.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
• Work across cloud-based accounting systems and modern digital processes.
• Take responsibility for your own workload while receiving ongoing training and support.
• Develop knowledge across multiple areas of accountancy with clear opportunities for progression.

Salary: GBP28000 - GBP36000 per annum + Free Breakfast

Location: Bolton
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a modern and forward-thinking accountancy practice for an Accountant to join their growing team in Bolton.This role would suit an individual with previous accountancy practice experience who is AAT Level 3 qualified or currently working towards it, and is looking to develop their career within a supportive and technology-focused environment.

Unlike a traditional accountancy practice, you will have the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients and gain broad exposure across accounts, VAT, payroll and general accounting, rather than being restricted to one particular area.The practice works predominantly with contractors, freelancers, sole traders and small limited companies, providing a varied client base and excellent opportunity to develop strong technical and client-facing skills.

Accountant Job Requirements

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• AAT Level 3 qualified or currently studying towards AAT.
• Experience across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and/or payroll would be beneficial.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients.
• Good IT skills and confidence using modern cloud-based accounting software.
