Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Bookkeeper for a fantastic firm of accountants in Maidstone. The ideal candidate will deliver bookkeeping services, prepare financial data, and assist with VAT returns and management accounts. AAT qualification is preferred along with strong software experience in Xero or QuickBooks. This position is office-based and can be either full-time or part-time.

Benefits

£35,000 - £40,000 salary depending on experience

Qualifications

  • AAT qualified, studying, or qualified by experience.
  • Strong Xero or QuickBooks software experience required.
  • Good knowledge of Excel is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bookkeeping services to varied clients from the Maidstone office.
  • Prepare financial data up to trial balance.
  • Perform double entry bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
  • Handle prepayments and accruals.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts.

Skills

Xero or QuickBooks software experience
Good knowledge of Excel
Ability to meet deadlines

Overview

TPF Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic firm of accountants based in Maidstone who are searching for an accountancy practice Bookkeeper to join their successful team, in a key role, bookkeeping, supporting with preparing management accounts, VAT returns and other services to a mixed and varied client base across Kent and the South East. You will carve a key role here, adding value to clients and building relationships, within a growing team and firm. This position can be full time, or part-time.

Responsibilities
  • Carve a key, hands-on role delivering bookkeeping services to varied clients (sole traders, partnerships and limited company SMEs and OMBs) from the Maidstone office.
  • Prepare financial data up to trial balance.
  • Perform double entry bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
  • Handle prepayments and accruals.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts.
Requirements
  • AAT qualified, studying, or qualified by experience.
  • Strong Xero or QuickBooks software experience.
  • Good knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.
