Job summary

Protalent in London is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage bookkeeping, VAT returns, and the preparation of management figures. You will also handle VAT reviews, financial statements, and tax returns for a portfolio of clients.

The role involves collaborating with client managers to understand requirements and identify areas for additional advisory support, while handling payment processing and supplier verifications. Aiming towards ACCA is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 18 months–2 years practical experience in accounting roles.
• Working towards ACCA qualification or similar is expected.
• Experience with sales invoicing and credit control is desirable.
• Experience in payment processing and cashflow management is beneficial.
• Strong Excel/Outlook/Word skills and a good general tech awareness.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare book-keeping as required.
• Prepare VAT returns.
• Prepare management figures.
• Review simple VAT returns.
• Prepare financial statements and sole trader accounts.
• Prepare consolidated accounts for small–medium groups.
• Prepare corporation tax returns.
• Support the management of a portfolio of clients.
• Collaborate with client managers to understand needs and identify advisory opportunities.
• Contact suppliers to verify bank details and process payments on internal systems and later on client online banking.
