Real Chemistry is looking for an Account Manager to join our growing team within the Medical Affairs Publications team. The Account Manager is the client’s key day‑to‑day contact, managing relationships and helping to set their expectations of the agency.
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.
Act as day‑to‑day client contact for publication work streams: provide regular status updates to your client; respond to client queries and share recommendations (following discussion with your account lead); manage client expectations on timelines, scope of project, etc.; take client briefs and clearly communicate to team members, implementing realistic project plans
Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of your account, including managing the processes of the account (including running regular internal team meetings), flow of work, delegation of tasks (oversee status reports to ensure all team actions are complete) and the status of jobs across the account (not just your own)
Ownership of and accountability for medium/large client projects, ensuring that projects are delivered to highest possible standards within budget and agreed timeframes
Ongoing communication with your account lead on the progress of projects; alerting them to any barriers to project completion and being proactive in making recommendations and proposing solutions on how to proceed
Awareness of the client’s business priorities and a sound understanding of the program strategy; have a good understanding of competitor activity
Keep abreast of trends and developments in the medical communications and pharma industries
Start to identify areas for growth (evolving existing programs and or additional tactics), proactively sharing new ideas with your team and client
Be proactive when new business opportunities arise, flagging relevant experience and areas of interest, contributing thoughts and ideas, assisting in the production of credentials and pitch presentations
Maintain general understanding of account finances; supports account lead with financial management
Continued professional development engagement; work with manager to identify training opportunities based on areas of interest and need
$65,000–$75,000. Compensation will be determined based on job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.

We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We also actively open new office locations. Outside these offices, people work remotely but come together quarterly for collaboration, culture and learning opportunities. We call this our Real Hybrid and Regional Teams (Real HART) approach.
