Job summary

Edelman is seeking an Analyst / Account Executive for the Public & Government Affairs team in London. You will produce high-quality policy content, monitor parliamentary activity, support engagement programmes and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a political party or public affairs setting is desirable.
  • Experience in public affairs and knowledge of parliamentary procedure desirable.
  • Keen interest in current affairs and UK policy.
  • Desire to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads amidst fast-moving events and unexpected requests.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with confident articulation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and planning.
  • Team player and collaborative with entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently produce high-quality internal and external written content under tight timelines and competing priorities.
  • Monitor political announcements and parliamentary activity.
  • Support political engagement programmes, including stakeholder mapping and outreach.
  • Develop biographical and policy briefings based on research.
  • Assist in new business processes with research and presentation development.
  • Support event management by liaising with MPs' offices and coordinating with parliamentary events teams.
  • Build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and motivated individual who wants to join our Public & Government Affairs team in London as an Analyst / Account Executive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consistently produce high-quality internal and external written content often under tight timelines and with competing priorities
  • Monitor political announcements and parliamentary activity
  • Support political engagement programmes, including creating stakeholder maps, outreach to relevant offices and handling the logistical arrangements
  • Develop biographical and policy briefings including conducting research to inform this documents
  • Aid in new business process including idea contribution, research and presentation development
  • Support with event management, including liaising with MPs' offices, co-ordinating with the parliamentary events team and third-party suppliers as well as handling the logistics
  • Build relationship with clients and colleagues at all levels
Key Requirements
  • Experience within a political party or in a public affairs setting is desirable
  • Experience within a public affairs environment and knowledge of parliamentary procedure is desirable
  • A keen interest in current affairs and UK policy
  • Desire to work as part of a busy, fast paced and highly motivated working environment
  • Proven track record of prioritising workloads. You must be adept at prioritising competing demands, contending with fast-moving events and handling unexpected requests
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to articulate point of view with confidence
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and planning skills
  • Team player and collaborative
  • A desire to share previous expertise and experience to enhance work of the team
  • Entrepreneurial spirit - willingness to 'get stuck in' and make the most of opportunities
