This role offers an opportunity to contribute to our vision of delivering excellent housing services and sustainable homes for residents across the Borough.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of a temporary accommodation placement and will also support people to maintain their homes, become more independent and ready to sustain a general needs tenancy.

You will be working closely with residents who may need support with attending appointments, substance misuse, poor mental health, maximising income and budgeting, accessing health services and educational placements, among others. You will also adopt our Early Help Practice standards when supporting family households, which builds on our holistic working approach.

About you

The successful applicant will

  • Have some knowledge and experience in safeguarding residents and the ability to follow procedures to ensure safeguarding.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and to collaborate with other services and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Be able to simplify and explain sometimes complex information to residents.
  • Have good time management and organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Be resilient and determined to ensure that residents receive an excellent service and achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Have an understanding of homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Have experience in support work and service delivery, confident and capable in managing complex cases and supporting vulnerable individuals.
