A government department is looking for a skilled frontend developer to join their Accessibility Standards and Strategy Team. This role involves engaging in a 1-year development programme focused on digital accessibility, consulting with product teams to create accessible web services, and delivering training sessions on web accessibility. The Accessibility Standards and Strategy Team is creating an inclusive culture within DWP, by empowering colleagues so they deliver products, services and internal communications, which are accessible, inclusive and comply with accessibility legislation. We research, document and share best practice to educate DWP. We monitor, document and report on compliance across our services and hold teams accountable when they do not meet the standards expected of any Public Sector Body. We are looking for a skilled frontend developer to join our established team and help us to continue our mission and ensure the highest levels of digital accessibility for both our customers and colleagues in DWP. The first year of this post will include intensive training in digital accessibility. If you already have experience in accessibility, this will be an advantage. You will work in the Accessibility Standards and Strategy Team to test web products and provide consultancy and training for our learning and development teams. You will:
