Role Overview

Global Market Access (GMAx) are key to maximizing the value of our products for patients, healthcare systems and for the company. The vision of the team is to be the industry leader in our ability to maximise patient access to life changing vaccines and medicines. To do this, we externally engage payers to fully recognise the value of our assets and internally act as a strategic leader to increase portfolio lifecycle value by delivering innovative solutions.

GSK will be expanding into gastro-intestinal stromal tumors (GIST) in the coming years, and wish to maximise the pricing & access environment for this important technology to transform the outcomes of people living with GIST. This involves a number of important external deliverables and strategic access projects, and the socialization of this strategy within the internal organisation.

The GIST Access Acceleration Lead will leverage clinical understanding, expertise of Evidence Based Medicine, alongside deep global payer knowledge and competitive insights to shape the Pricing & Access strategy, evidence generation, and value communication tools & materials. We are looking for a passionate and experienced market access professional, to lead the execution of external projects including value proposition development and pricing research, and to act as an expert advisor on price & access strategy optimization activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice and leadership to the GIST cross-functional team, globally with respect to market access and pricing, to develop innovative and competitive Payer Value Propositions and Pricing Strategies for this asset.
  • Co-ordinate execution of external strategic access projects.
  • Develop expert guidance on key strategic access issues, in collaboration with the GI GMAx Director.
  • Provide ‘red thread’ of expert access strategy between the external projects and feeding into the GIST GMAx team.
  • Input to the evidence generation plan to ensure it will address critical payer questions.
  • Support the development of the market access strategy within the brand plan.
  • Assess gaps and opportunities for additional Access activities to maximise probability of success for this asset.
  • Collaborate with individuals across many functions, including Health Outcomes, Commercial, Policy and Medical teams, to ensure the access strategy is optimally developed and disseminated throughout the organisation.
MinimumQualifications
  • 5+ years experience in international pricing & market access strategy, with most senior role at Director level.
  • Good knowledge of all international markets, including US, Japan and China.
  • Knowledge of pricing policy & regulations in key markets, ideally with Oncology-specific expertise.
  • Experience in leading external project delivery.
  • Experience in internal price and access strategy development.
  • Excellent project management skills, prioritisation and problem-solving skills with high sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, both internal and external, ideally including demonstrated ability to develop and mobilise key stakeholders to influence decisions, and remove barriers.
  • Results-orientated with a sense of urgency and customer focus, resilient when overcoming obstacles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oncology, particularly GI tumours.
