Job summary

Charnwood College is seeking an enthusiastic Librarian to lead and develop our school library as a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring learning environment. You will support literacy, independent learning and reading for pleasure, helping to foster a lifelong love of reading among our students.

The post is part-time, term-time only (26 hours per week, 39 weeks per year) with a pro rata NJC06 salary and benefits including Local Government Pension Scheme and wellbeing programmes.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate is highly organised, approachable and proactive with excellent communication and IT skills.
  • A passion for books, literacy and learning, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
  • Ability to inspire students to develop confidence in reading and research.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and student-focused Librarian to lead and develop our secondary school library as a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring learning environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting literacy, independent learning and reading for pleasure across the school, helping to foster a lifelong love of reading among our students.

This is a part-time, term time only post, working 26 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Charnwood College is an oversubscribed 11 to 18 school with a recent Ofsted inspection rating of Good in all areas. The campus spans 40 acres and offers a range of sports, arts and technology facilities. The school follows ‘The Charnwood Way’ to create a positive, learning culture in which all students are immersed.

Salary: NJC06 £25,989 FTE (actual salary £16,041 per annum, pro rata)
