Job summary

SWFC is seeking a casual Academy Age Group Coach for Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase (U7-16). Based at the SWFC Training Ground, some travel to away games is required; casual zero hours—evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate will plan, deliver, record and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the club’s philosophy, meeting EPPP requirements, and report to the Head of Coaching and Phase Manager.

Qualifications

• UEFA B License (U9-U16) required.
• UEFA C License (U7-U8) required.
• The FA Youth Award (U9-U16) required.
• The FA Advanced Youth Award desirable.
• Sports/management/teaching degree desirable.
• FA Safeguarding Children certification.
• First Aid in Football BFAS / EFAiF qualifications beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, record and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the club’s philosophy.
• Develop an elite, multi-disciplinary environment to maximise player development within the Foundation/Youth stages.
• Ensure coaching complies with EPPP requirements and club standards.

Reporting to the Head of Coaching and Phase Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for developing an elite, multi-disciplinary environment to maximise the development of players in a specific age group within the Foundation Phase or Youth Development Phase. The successful candidates will plan, deliver, record and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the club’s coaching and playing philosophy, meeting all EPPP requirements.

About The Candidate

Qualifications:

• UEFA B License (U9-U16)
• UEFA C License (U7-U8)
• The FA Youth Award (U9-U16)
• The FA Advanced Youth Award (desirable)
• Sports/management/teaching degree (desirable)
• FA Safeguarding Children
• An up-to-date Emergency Aid in Football qualification (Basic First Aid for Sport - BFAS, The FA Level 2 Emergency Aid in Football - EFAiF)

The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Summary of Experience:

• A high level of football knowledge and understanding of how to create an elite environment
• Knowledge and experience of working in an Academy structure and EPPP rules and regulations
• Previous coaching experience at Academy level (desirable)
• Previous playing experience at professional level (desirable)
