Job summary

Liverpool John Moores University is seeking an enthusiastic Academic Skills Tutor to join the Library's Academic Success Team. You will design and deliver learning development sessions, workshops and tutorials to help students build academic skills, confidence and resilience throughout their university journey.

You will work with colleagues across the Library and faculties to embed skills in programmes, support targeted student initiatives and drive continuous improvement through

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or facilitating learning development in higher education or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of learning development pedagogy and academic writing conventions.
• Familiar with technology-enhanced learning and related tools.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver learning development support through workshops, tutorials and curriculum-based teaching.
• Deliver one-to-one appointments to support diverse student cohorts.
• Embed academic skills within programmes to enhance engagement, retention and progression.
• Develop high-quality online and face-to-face learning resources and lead small projects.
