Job summary

Glyndŵr University in Wales seeks an Academic Skills Tutor to enhance the student experience through one-to-one, group and classroom academic skills sessions, delivered face to face or online.

You will work with the Academic Support Manager and colleagues to liaise with departments and the Student Union, promoting and developing academic skills services across the University. Welsh and English applications are welcome.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic writing and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of learning development in higher education.
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse student groups.
• Proficient IT skills with MS Office and Teams.
• Understanding of library/information/academic skills in post-16 learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver academic skills sessions (one-to-one, group and classroom) face-to-face or online.
• Liaise with academic departments, professional services and the Student Union to promote and monitor services.
• Attend programme or school meetings, student voice meetings and other fora.
• Assist in developing innovative and ambitious ways to provide academic skills support.
• Produce high-quality written reports and learning resources to underpin academic skills.
• Engage with University strategies to ensure consistent delivery of services.
