Job summary

The University of Salford is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to assist the Senior Finance Business Partner with budget preparation and monitoring of payroll data and teaching expenditure.

You will help develop process improvements across the Finance Division and provide accurate, timely financial support to managers. A proactive, detail‑oriented candidate with strong people skills is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Ability to support teaching activity budgeting and forecasting.
• Proactive with strong attention to detail and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in budgeting and monitoring payroll data and expenditure for teaching activities.
• Assist in pay and non-pay budget setting, budget monitoring, and financial reporting.
• Monitor academic pay, vacancies and workload allowances, liaising with HR and academic managers.
• Contribute to reviewing and improving transactional processes within academic finance.
