Qualifications

• Strong academic record and degree in a relevant discipline.
• Registration with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTC Scotland).
• A strong teaching portfolio with head of department or senior leadership experience.
• Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum, assessment and learning and teaching developments.
• Understanding of an independent girls' school and commitment to meeting diverse needs.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Well-developed communication skills, with ability to relate to girls and parents.
• Commitment to staff professional development and leading in-service training.
• Strong organisational, administrative and time-management skills with digital literacy.

Responsibilities

• Teach approximately 10 periods each week and contribute to school life outside the timetable.
• Lead in-service training and promote collaboration among staff.
• Develop and review curriculum, assessment and learning policies.
• Oversee timetable development and cover requirements.
• Support heads of department as leaders of learning and teaching.
• Contribute to quality assurance, self-evaluation and improvement planning.
