Job summary

A recruitment agency for education is seeking an Academic Coach of English in Birmingham. This role is perfect for English graduates who want to gain experience before teacher training. You'll provide targeted support for students in KS3 and KS4, along with opportunities for professional development. The position offers £350 - £400 per week, five days a week, beginning immediately with a finish date in July 2026. Graduate English Teaching Assistant

Are you a graduate with an English related degree, looking for experience in a secondary school, prior to teacher training in the near future?

Can you utilise your degree knowledge and provide 1:1 and small group intervention sessions to struggling English students?

  • Graduate English Teaching Assistant
  • £350 - £400 per week, 5 days per week
  • School based in the Ward of Northfield
  • Immediate start – July 2026 finish
  • English support through KS3 & KS4

This role is ideal for an English graduate who wishes to become an English Teacher in the future. The role is to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with English pupils, providing subject specific support through KS3 and KS4. Whilst working, you will also have the opportunity and be provided with free formal CPD and training, relevant to education and teaching.

The school is situated in Birmingham. It was deemed ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2021, with the English department being mentioned as ‘one of the strongest’ in the school. In 2022, 84% of pupils in English achieved A*-C (which is above national average).
